Zell lies in the Moselle valley, surrounded by vineyards and steep slopes that have shaped the character of the town for generations.
The Zeller Schwarze Katz is closely associated with the identity of the town and its wine culture. Our work connects wine, local experiences and the landscape of the Moselle.
We believe that wine is best understood when it is connected to the place where it is produced.

Every bottle has a connection to a landscape.
The Moselle's vineyards are shaped by steep slopes, river valleys, local climate and generations of winegrowing knowledge. Riesling has a particularly important place in the region and forms an important part of our wine selection.
Our aim is to offer wines that can be enjoyed at home while also giving visitors an opportunity to discover Zell and the vineyards behind them.
SUPPORTING THE STEEP VINEYARDS
The steep vineyards of the Moselle require significant work to cultivate. In some areas, difficult working conditions have contributed to the decline of vineyard cultivation.
A vineyard sponsorship provides a personal way to support the continued cultivation of a vineyard in Zell.
In 2008, the vineyard connected with the current sponsorship programme began a new planting and cultivation project in a steep vineyard in Zell. The first wine from this vineyard was harvested in 2011.

WHICH WINES ARE AVAILABLE?
Our selection includes white wines, red wines, rosé wines, sparkling wines and wine sponsorships. Riesling is an important part of the selection, alongside Pinot varieties and other wines.
WHAT IS A WINE SPONSORSHIP?
A wine sponsorship gives you a personal connection to a vine in the vineyard. Depending on the sponsorship period, you receive a certificate, a plaque with your name and wine from the vineyard each year.
